While several countries, including India, have launched inquiries into Grok, Indonesia stands out as the first nation to implement a full ban. The BBC reports that the United Kingdom is also contemplating restricting access to Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, due to non-compliance with online safety regulations.
Elon Musk has previously indicated that measures would be taken against users who request Grok to create inappropriate images or videos, including account bans. Meanwhile, the Indian government has expressed dissatisfaction with xAI’s responses and is weighing further actions. On January 8, Musk announced that Grok’s image generation and editing features would be limited to paying subscribers as part of efforts to address these safety concerns.
