Indian Railways has now made it mandatory for passengers to book Tatkal tickets to connect its Aadhaar number with their IRCTC accounts. The move aims to strengthen the safety of the reservation system, curb the use of fraud of total quota and ensure a smooth, more certified booking experience for real travelers.

Booking agents are now banned from burning tickets during the first 30 minutes of the Tatkal Advance Reservation period (ARP), which gives regular passengers a better chance to secure tickets with low competition.

• Step 1: Log In
  • Go to the official IRCTC portal at www.irctc.co.in and sign in using your registered user ID and password.
• Step 2: Go to Your Profile
  • Locate and select the ‘My Profile’ option, which can be found within the ‘My Account’ section.
• Step 3: Select Aadhaar KYC
  • Choose the “Aadhaar KYC” option from the available list.
• Step 4: Enter Aadhaar Details

• Step 5: Verify with OTP

• Step 7: Track Status
